Where I Buy My Summer Dresses

It’s sundress season, and if you’re anything like me, you know this is what makes summer bearable.

If you’re also anything like me, you’ve been searching for summer dresses since spring, and most especially, if you are truly like me, you know all summer dresses aren’t equal.

You know linen(blend) is the absolute best summer material,

And, polyester should be abolished.

And summer dresses should be airy, and colourful, and have cute prints/patterns (emphasis on cute).

That being said, here are some of my favourite places to shop for summer dresses.

Winners

I am a Winners shopaholic so believe me when I tell you the best time to shop for sundresses at Winners is in March/ Early April. Late April, and you’re left with luck, >40% polyester, and reject dresses.

P.S.: Marshalls carries a larger selection of clothes, but Winners is my go-to store.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Speaking of cute patterns, A&F understands the assignment. Great material and print, colourful, flowy, and affordable, they’re checking off all the boxes, and let’s not forget length, mini, midi, maxi, they have it all.

Asos

If you just look past the atrocious import/duties charge you will be presented with at pick up, oh, and the very dynamic sizing, then I guess I can comfortably say Asos has it all. You’re guaranteed to find something you like at Asos, and it’s quite affordable, of course, until you get that custom fee.

Zara

Now when it comes to summer dresses, Zara is very wonderful at bland colours and polyester, but once in a while you come across that coloured linen blend, and maybe once in a blue moon, it’s coupled with a cute pattern and that is what keeps me going, (well that and the shipping).

Walmart

Sometimes it just so happens that you go in for groceries and come out with a summer gem.

Mango

Like Winners, I think Spring is the best time to shop for summer dresses from Mango but they also have an okay summer collection, like this pinstripe midi dress, and this floral print one.

&Other Stories

This one is last on the list because although you might find one or two pieces that look like they belong with Reformation, the custome fee keeps me away.

Special mention

Reformation

The perfect summer dress does not exis- actually, it does on Reformation, it’s just outside of my tax bracket but god, it exists. Sustainable, different prints, patterns lengths, and maybe once in a while you might even find yourself twinning with Taylor Swift.

I am always on the hunt for summer dresses, so please, let me know your trusted stores.
